Accessible Travel

Attraction Queue Accommodations
At Universal Orlando, we provide both inclusive environments and accessible experiences for our Guests. We have constructed our attraction queues and park entrances to be accessible to Guests using wheelchairs and mobility devices.

Individual Accessibility Card Program
Universal Orlando has developed an Attractions Assistance Pass for Guests whose disability prevents them from waiting for extended periods in a conventional attraction queue environment. The Attractions Assistance Pass is an accommodation designed to provide equal access to theme park attractions and is not to bypass other Guests waiting in the attraction queue.

Guests Using Manual Wheelchairs And ECVs
Wheelchairs are available to rent for $15 per day and signed rental contract. Regular Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) are available to rent for $75 per day and Canopy ECVs are available to rent for $95 per day, both of which require a signed rental contract. Universal Orlando’s resort shuttles are equipped with a wheelchair lift to transport Guests to/from our on site hotels, CityWalk and Volcano Bay. Wheelchairs, ECV’s and other mobility devices must fit without being forced on lifts, ramps, and in designated wheelchair spaces. Once a guest maneuvers the wheelchair/mobility device into the designated space, the mobility devices must be securely fastened by the shuttle driver using the onboard restraints. Guests may remain in securely fastened wheelchairs, and guests may remain in securely fastened strollers-as-wheelchairs as long as the stroller is rated and labeled WC-19 for transportation purposes and has appropriate attachment points. Guests in ECV’s and other mobility devices must transfer to the shuttle seating.

Through conscious design and operations, Universal saves millions of kilowatt hours annually. LED lighting fixtures are used extensively at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, and both properties are moving toward high-efficiency HVAC mechanical equipment and roofing that provides increased reflection of solar rays to reduce the solar heat-load on the structure.

Viking Ocean ships are fuel efficient and exceed the IMO’s Energy Efficiency Design Index requirements by 25% with closed-loop scrubbers, and new ships will include space for hydrogen fuel cells, LNG (methane) excluded. Viking Expedition built to exceed EEDI requirements by 38% with integrated bow and engines with heat recovery systems and Azipod Electric Propulsion. Viking Mississippi ship is equipped to maximize energy efficiency and reduce emissions with diesel-electric hybrid system, state-of-the-art propulsion system and highly advanced exhaust scrubbing system.

Viking just recently announced, in partnership with Fincantieri, the debut of the world’s first hydrogen-powered cruise ship, the Viking Libra, scheduled for delivery in 2026. The Viking Astrea, scheduled to debut in 2027, will also be hydrogen powered.
